Ish

My friend Kit said ish is the most useful sound in the English language. He reckons we use it to express ourselves all the time.

I agree with him, ish.

Went to meet him at eightish.

Saw something freakish.

It was moving slow-ish.

He said I’m late-ish – 

I said it’s cold-ish. Wear layers.

I was happyish, waiting.

The freakish thing got close, ish.

Someone tried to stop it; she was old-ish.

It jumped at her, angryish, or hungry?

A greenish bruise.

Painful-ish – but she was OKish. 

Kit arrived, sorry-ish; asked if my day was good.

Ish.
