It’s not that I don’t like it

I don’t usually ghost-write books for authors who want to self-publish. But why not? 

It’s not because I don’t like self-publishing; it’s about the relationship. 

With traditional publishing, I get paid by the publisher — just like the author does. With self-publishing, the client has to pay me themselves.

When we’re both being paid by the publisher, we are a creative partnership. When you’re paying me, you’re my client and I’m your service provider. And when it comes to writing a book, a creative partnership just feels better: we’re collaborators on an equal (and equally excited) footing.
